| Message from the President |
Welcome to the ACSA Region XIII website. I am pleased to serve San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties as President of this Region. Each year the challenges of school leadership increase. ACSA provides excellent learning opportunities to hone your leadership skills, connects you with other school leaders, supports legislation to improve education, and opposes legislation that makes school administration even more difficult.
The two main goals for State ACSA and Region XIII this year are to improve communication throughout the organization and to strengthen the organization through increased diversity of membership. I am personally committed to these goals. To improve communication throughout the organization, information received is consistently forwarded via e-mail to all Region Board Members, Committee/Council Representatives, and Charter Presidents. During our annual planning retreat, Region Board Members received training regarding the current status and continuing need to increase diversity throughout the organization. This training was provided to members through the Equity, Achievement, and Diversity for Success committee. The committee and State ACSA will soon release a new Diversity Action Plan Toolkit.
I encourage you to participate actively in your local Charter Activities and join us for Region XIII events. Please feel free to contact me if you have suggestions or ideas on how Region XIII and State ACSA can serve you better. Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve you – Leadership Matters!
